Dr. Sherri R. Edelman, Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Counselor
Dr. Sherri Edelman has over 20 years of experience in the fields of psychotherapy and counseling, training and consultation, seminar and workshop presentation, education, and life and career coaching. She holds a BS degree in Education from Temple University; dual Master’s degrees from Hahnemann University in Group Psychotherapy and Organizational Groups; and from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine a Masters degree and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Edelman is a Nationally Certified Psychologist and a Pennsylvania Licensed Counselor. She has worked in independent psychotherapy practice, training, residential and community mental health, specialty care (abuse), academia, and vocational and cognitive rehabilitation. Her clinical work includes experience with children, adolescents and adults, as well as couples, families and groups.

In 2002, Dr. Edelman co-founded Triune Chiropractic, Counseling and Wellness in Philadelphia, PA, an Alternative & Complementary Wellness Center providing education and drug-free treatment and services, where she also has an independent psychotherapy and coaching practice. She has been associated with the Center for Children’s Support at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM) in NJ, where she has led physical and sexual abuse and domestic violence groups for children and adults, co-authored a treatment manual in Domestic Violence, as well as conducted clinical research in sexual abuse and provided treatment for abuse victims and their families.

She is a workshop and seminar presenter, a teacher and a keynote speaker on the topic of Child Abuse: October of 2006 at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (Understanding Child Sexual Abuse: Assessment, Treatment and Diversity Issues; Arcadia University in the Community Medicine and Wellness Program and the Maternal/Child Health Program (Child Abuse), the 2004 annual New Jersey Child Abuse Conference and Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania, and the New Jersey Cares about Bullying conference (Female Bullying). She has presented seminars on Complementary and Alternative Medicine at Arcadia University. In 2003, she was awarded the Pennsylvania Psychological Association’s (PPA) Education Award for research and work in Child Abuse. Dr. Edelman is one of a group of professionals having served on a National Advisory Panel for Best Practices for the treatment of Child Abuse, a joint effort between the National Call to Action: A Movement to End Child Abuse based at the Chadwick Center in San Diego, CA and the Ewing Marion Kaufman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri. She served as Chair and as a board member of the Authentic Voices Executive Committee. Dr. Edelman was also a member of the Professional Advisory Panel for the Brutal Truth Project, an effort to educate the public through media on the topic of violence and abuse. Dr. Edelman has had several media appearances, including in 2004, ABC Sunday Live and It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle, and recently in 2006 she appeared on the NBC Today Show in New York and ABC Channel 6 Action News. Dr. Edelman is an active-solution focused partner in your transformative process, as she believes all emotional suffering can be ultimately healed with intention and commitment.

Dr. Edelman has been the subject of several media interviews, including in 2006 with The Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia Style magazine, and a spokesperson for IKEA. In October 2006 she was featured in the Jewish Exponent in the “Stars and Society Stars of David” column, and has been a contributing writer to newsletters, print publications and journals.
